De verkoper vertelt
What immediately drew me to this home was its unique location. The house is situated directly along the beautiful Leiden Singel, with unobstructed views of the canal from the front windows. Having water and greenery so close by gives the home a peaceful and open feeling that is rare to find so close to the city center.
Directly opposite the house is the Huigpark, which has become an extension of daily life for us. Whether it's enjoying the sun on the grass, having a picnic or barbecue by the water, watching children play in the playground, or simply going for a walk along the Singel, the area offers a wonderful balance between city living and relaxation. Because buses are not allowed on the road in front of the house, the street also feels pleasantly calm and quiet. The historic city centre of Leiden and Leiden Central Station are both within approximately 15 minutes walking distance, while several bus stops are nearby as well. Daily amenities are all within easy reach, including supermarkets, gyms, and shops, making everyday life incredibly convenient without sacrificing the charm and tranquillity of the neighbourhood.
On quiet mornings, having a coffee while looking out over the canal feels incredibly relaxing, and on sunny days it almost effortless to step outside and enjoy the benches or greenery along the water. The neighbourhood has a very special character: peaceful and friendly, yet still lively and connected. Throughout the day you see people walking, jogging, cycling, and enjoying the Singel, which gives the area a welcoming and vibrant energy without ever feeling crowded. The neighbours are warm, considerate, and always willing to help, which created a genuine feeling of home from the very beginning.
