In 2018 we moved from the UK to the Netherlands and fell in love with this house. It's the perfect combination of urban living and a quiet neighbourhood with great views and access to nature: Amsterdam is only 20 minutes away.The open, generous layout was a welcome contrast to our busy work lives. The outdoor spaces and views of the river offer an oasis to recharge. Being next to the river really comes into its own during the warmer months, when you can go swimming or take a boat trip right from your own deck. There is a nice sunny spot at any time of the day: greet the sun with your morning coffee near the kitchen, have lunch in the waterside garden with its different levels and vegetation, or take an after-work drink on the south-facing 1st floor balcony. Having 2 parking spaces, a shedand a garage worked perfectly for our hobbies – all the gardening and other tools have a dedicated space and the house stays tidy. We made the house as self-sufficient as possible by doubling the number of solar panels to produce enough energy for the house and our electric car. The extensive smart home system controls the custom made blinds that adjust to the sun's brightness, heating, and lightsthroughout the house and garden. While we adore the place, it's now time to downsize and change our pace of life. Our next stop will be in walking distance of museums, shops and our friends' apartments, right in central Amsterdam. We'll miss this house, and we're sure you'll love it.
