“ Cutting down my commute was one of the main points on my list while searching for a house. My office is in the Bijlmer-Bullewijk area and hence I was searching for an apartment or house in Zuidoost. I looked at places in Gein, Reigersbos and even Driemond but finally settled on Boris Pasternakstraat 325. Apart from the fact that I could walk to my office, what really clinched this place for me was the amount of light that flooded the apartment when I visited it. All year round, you don't need to switch on a light during the day due to the East-West orientation of the apartment. This translates into huge energy savings. There is also a floor to ceiling rack on one side of the living room which I used to arrange my books but can be used as a great showpiece for anything.

This location is within walking distance of Duivendrecht and Diemen and has a lot of shopping and nature areas within a few minutes cycling time. For sport lovers, there's the Amsterdam Old Golf Course, Tennis Park Strandvliet and of course the ArenA. In fact, you have a great view of the stadium from the Western balcony.

Strandvliet metro station is right outside the door, Bijlmer and Duivendrecht train and metro stations are close by.

The large common lawns are popular with kids and residents during the spring and summer and it's easy to keep an eye on the kids from the balcony looking onto the lawns. Kindergartens are also close by.

All in all, a great place to live.
